Making room for a moment
A proposed sample reflection on noticing sounds, sensations, and thoughts without needing to make any of them disappear.
Proposed sample — editorial review pending
Awareness can begin with an ordinary pause. A sound may arrive from the street; a shoulder may feel tense or loose; a thought may pull attention toward the next task. Each can be noticed as part of the present moment, without needing to rank it, follow it, or push it away.
No single experience has to become the whole story. Letting attention include a changing mix of sounds, body sensations, and thoughts can create space to observe what is happening before choosing where to place attention next. This is a reflection prompt, not a method that needs to produce a particular feeling.
